Club captain Fitz Harding signed professional terms with the Academy in July 2020 after catching the eye during for Durham University in the BUCS Super Rugby Championship.

He was appointed club captain in 2023, becoming the second youngest Premiership captain in the club’s history after England international Martin Corry in 1996/97.

Harding enjoyed a breakthrough 2020/21 season, catching the eye with a series of impressive displays, including the match-winning break at Franklin’s Gardens and his maiden try against Harlequins. The former Durham University and England Students back rower helped Durham to the BUCS Super Rugby title this season and was shortlisted for BUCS Super Rugby player of the year.
