The outstanding Steven Luatua joined Bristol Bears ahead of the 2017/18 campaign and has since become the Bears’ talismanic leader, playing more than 50 times for the club. A formidable and inspirational leader, Luatua has captained the Bears on more than 30 occasions and has quickly become one of the club’s modern greats in just three seasons at Ashton Gate. The All Black international – who has 15 caps for his country – scooped the club’s Player’s Player of the Season award in 2018/19 and 2019/20, Supporters Player of the Season in 2020/21 and has been shortlisted for Gallagher Premiership Player of the Season in 2019/20 and 2020/21.
