More than 200 children from twenty Bristol schools will take part in a rugby festival at the Bears High Performance Centre on Thursday, April 3rd as part of the club’s strategic partnership with Cabot Learning Federation (CLF).

CLF supports 18,000 children and young people aged 2 to 19 in a diverse array of settings.

Bears Men’s and Women’s players will be in attendance to meet the youngsters taking part in the community festival and the club continues its drive to deliver positive engagement within the community.

Chief Operating Officer, Tom Tainton, said: “The CLF festival at the High Performance Centre will bring communities across Bristol together for a celebration of our sport. To have over 200 young people from a diverse range of backgrounds attending is a testament to the partnership that we are building with Cabot Learning Foundation.

“We want to showcase that rugby is a game for all and that there are opportunities for everybody, irrespective of gender, faith and background, to be part of the Bristol Bears community.”

CLF Partnerships Manager, Andrew Bell, said: “Following on from the Bears players visiting our schools on World Book Day and Pat Lam’s inspirational assembly at City Academy, we’re pleased to be working alongside the club to deliver a rugby festival at the Bears High Performance Centre.

“This will be a celebration of sport in our city and with more than 200 children from 20 schools attending on the day, we’re excited to be using the power of sport to continue to raise the aspiration and ambitions of children and young people in Bristol.”

The Bears’ strategic partnership with CLF is aimed at growing rugby in the region, identifying talent and attracting new supporters.

CLF is a family of 35 schools in Bristol, Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Somerset, covering 18,000 young people in the city from a wide range of backgrounds and demographics.
