Bears Women
Bristol Bears Women is a top-flight women’s rugby club that competes in the Allianz Premiership Women’s Rugby. Our vision is to Inspire Our Community Through Rugby Success and we have ambitions of winning the league title.
Bristol Bears Women’s professional coaching team is led by Head Coach Dave Ward and Assistant Coach Tom Luke.
The club have developed a close affinity to the men’s programme in recent years working closely with Director of Rugby, Pat Lam on a shared club vision and philosophy to align the two clubs. The alignment between the two programmes has been enhanced by Bears Women’s move to the Bears High Performance Centre, which sees both the men’s, women’s and academy programmes share best practice from a coaching, medical and athletic performance standpoint.
The squad boasts a wealth of talent ranging from international stars that have represented England and Wales, Olympic and Commonwealth Games, age-range internationals as well as BUCS champions, through to a development squad of talented individuals from across the South West.
Bristol Bears Women strives to nurture and develop the wealth of rugby talent across the South West through strong partnerships with the University of Bristol, Richard Huish College, SGS College and Weston College.
