Bristol Bears will hold a groundbreaking Professional Rugby Talent ID Day at the state-of-the-art High Performance Centre on Thursday, April 17th as the club looks to provide young players with an opportunity to showcase their talent in a high performance environment.
Open to players in theU18 (Year 13), U19, and U20 age categories, the Professional Rugby Talent ID Day provides a unique opportunity for young athletes to showcase their skills and experience in front of the Bears coaching team. The event is designed to identify emerging rugby talent, with players assessed on their physical, technical and tactical ability.
Selection for the event will be via an application process, with a group of 30-40 players invited to the day.

Director of Rugby, Pat Lam, said: “With the Bears having comfortably the smallest Academy catchment area, lowest number of schools and fewest number of registered players aged 13-19 in the Premiership, we’re always looking at new ways to give young talent throughout the country an opportunity to realise their rugby dreams.
“This Professional Rugby Talent ID Day will provide young players with an opportunity to experience the Bears High Performance Centre and showcase their talent, not only in front of the Bears coaching team, but also some of the Bears senior players.
“I believe this is going to be a great day for all involved and we’re all looking forward to Thursday, April 17th.”
Head of Academy, John Barnes, said: “With rugby being a maturation sport, players develop at all different ages and this event provides the opportunity to enter the elite pathway at a variety of stages.
“We look forward to welcoming players from a range of backgrounds and experience to the High Performance Centre on what will be an exciting and unique day.”
