Entries are now open for cyclists to sign up for Break The Cycle 2025 as Bristol Bears Community Foundation’s flagship fundraising event returns for a 15th year.
Taking place on Sunday June 29th, Break The Cycle is the Foundation’s biggest annual fundraising event and offers riders the choice of three routes – Gold (100km), Silver (66km) and Bronze (33km) – starting and finishing at Ashton Gate Stadium.
Open to everyone from beginners to experienced riders, the event raises crucial funds to support us in delivering more life-changing programmes in our communities.
Data shows in Bristol that NEET rates are higher than the national average with those experiencing detrimental effects on both physical and mental health, and increased likelihood of unemployment, low wages or low-quality work later on in life.
Not everyone thrives in traditional education, employment or training pathways so Bristol Bears Community Foundation offers an alternative that works for them.
We have set a fundraising goal of £20,000 for Break The Cycle 2025 to enable us to continue this vital work and to deliver a year-long programme working with 20 young people to gain English and maths qualifications and work experience at local businesses. We require your support in helping us to raise these funds.

Riders who sign up for Break The Cycle are fully supported along the route with mechanical and medical support, as well as refreshments and lunch stops.
The cost to take part is £50 for the Gold Route (100km), £40 for the Silver Route (66km) and £30 for the Bronze Route (33km).
Jamie Skinner, Bristol Bears Community Foundation CEO, said: “Break The Cycle is our biggest annual fundraising event and an amazing opportunity for local businesses and cyclists of all abilities to actively support the life-changing work of our Foundation.
“The funds raised this year will support our Education and Skills area of work, specifically those young people not in employment, education or training. By taking part in Break The Cycle, you’ll be directly supporting youngsters who need a second chance to gain qualifications and work experience, helping them build brighter futures.
“Whether you’re a keen cyclist or new to the challenge, there’s a route for everyone. We’re calling on individuals and businesses to get involved, ride with us, and help us reach our fundraising target. Together, we can make a real difference.”
