More than 60 girls from four schools come together for Bristol Bears Community Foundation’s Project Rugby Festival at Lockleaze Sports Centre, supported by Gallagher UK.

Pupils from Bristol Free School, Merchants Academy, Ashton Park School and Oasis Academy Brislington enjoyed an action-packed day of rugby games to celebrate the conclusion of the six-week programme.

Bristol Bears Women prop Simi Pam brought some star power to the festival, taking part in a Q&A session with the girls about her rugby journey before posing for selfies and signing autographs

Project Rugby is Premiership Rugby’s award-winning participation programme run in partnership with England Rugby and Gallagher UK, which aims to introduce young people to rugby.

It provides accessible opportunities for young people who wouldn’t normally play rugby to try it so they can experience the multitude of benefits that come from playing and stimulate a lifelong interest in the game.
